How Bhatkal can help Syria.

I remember a moment in my life where Bhatkal town stood with Jammu and Kashmir when it was struck with natural disaster which resulted in heavy flooding and huge loss of property.
Back then I was in Degree College acquiring my education in bachelors of Science. I remember skipping my classes and joining my friends in campaign to help Kashmiris with whatever we can. We started the journey from our college and roamed to every nook and corner to collect the donation from market places.
Later all this donation was given to the elders of our society who then went to the land of Kashmir to provide sustenance with whatever we collected.
Today once again the Muslims are pleading for help. The children are stretching their hands out for the sake of food and water. Women are crying for the safety and men are pleading for shelter to sustain their lives.
If you are still thinking what I am talking about, Then let me tell you I am lamenting about the land of long struggle- SYRIA
A peaceful uprising against the president of Syria seven years ago has turned into a full-scale civil war. The conflict has left more than 350,000 people dead and devastated cities.
Looking at the photographs and video footage aches my heart. Watching women and kids struggling to survive in this distress city makes it even more vulnerable.
Syria has completed its seven years of war. A lot of civilians are shifting themselves in order to find peace and tranquillity. Most of them are still fighting their lives in order to find shelter. In between many Syrians are missing and most of them are declared dead.
The most heart wrenching scene is to watch small children waking up to the sound of shelling and air strikes. Many kids are deprived of food and water. They are deprived of basic education. They are unsafe and unprotected.
We cannot rely solely on government as government contribution is little or none. It is the mass that needs to take an action! We the people of Bhatkal should not back step at this moment.
Below there are certain steps that we the people of Bhatkal should take to help the Syrian people.
1. We must approach the people whom Allah has bestowed an enormous amount of wealth.
2. Apart from this, we must not leave any stone unturned. We have to visit every house, school, hospital and market places to collect the donation.
3. We must come up with a solid advertisement campaign. Banners, posters and flyers must be given about the donation campaign for Syria.
4. A large gathering needs to be held if possible. Great ulama-e karam must speak out about the Syrian war. With this, large amount of mass will come to know the detail aspect of what Syrian are actually going through.
5. Educating the population of Bhatkal about the donation campaign via digital media. Every student and professional must serve its own duty by sharing the useful information about the campaign for Syria.
6. Bhatkal town should be educated about the Syrian war and donation campaign through Jumu’a congregational prayer.
7. Schools and colleges must be given information about this donation campaign. The role of a student is very crucial in such situation.
8. The finance must be handled carefully by the elders of our society. It has to be delivered safely to the women and kids living and surviving in the devastated place-Syria.
9. Allah is the only protector. It is He with whom we seek help and refuge from harm. We must seek help through obligatory and supregatory prayers. We must keep our Syrian brothers and sisters in our prayers.
Dear brothers and sisters,
I understand that we won’t be able to put our 100% in helping those civilians. My heart aches at every moment that we the people of Bhatkal have not come up with a solution. We always stood against calamities with the help of Allah. We have always been a shoulder to someone who sought help. Then why such silence even after the struggle of Syria is transparent?
I understand that the route is difficult and it needs a huge amount of courage to implement this action but the journey of thousand miles begins with a single step!

Every time when we see the pictures and videos of Syrian people it aches our hearts but we won't take any step to help them. Thanks for writing on this topic..😊
